Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to data when you use glamglyphs.com. In short: the tools work in your browser, we use Google Analytics to understand usage, and we count which symbols are copied without linking that to you.

Text you type into the generators

Text you type is converted in your browser and isn’t sent to our servers. We don’t record what you type. Analytics events record only the length of generated text, not the text itself.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and tools are used. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. We also send events when you use a tool, for example:

• copying a symbol or text style (including which symbol or style was copied, and its label and page);
• a copy that your browser blocked;
• searches typed into the site’s search boxes, and filters you select;
• clicks on links to other GlamGlyphs tools, and contact form submissions (without the message content).

Anonymous “most copied” counter

When you copy a symbol, your browser adds one to that symbol’s count for the day in a Google Firebase Realtime Database. Only the symbol and the date are stored — no account, cookie or device identifier. The totals power the “Most copied this week” section. As with any web request, Google (as the service provider) receives your IP address to deliver the request.

Storage on your device

We use your browser’s local storage to remember your recently copied symbols (key gg-recent-v2). It stays on your device; you can clear it with the “Clear” button or your browser settings.

Contact form and email

If you use the contact form, your email address, optional name, topic and message are sent through Formspree so we can read and reply to it. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and message. We use these only to respond.

Advertising

We may show ads served by Google AdSense in the future. If ads are enabled:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.
• Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a consent message before personalised ads are shown.

We will update this section before ads go live.

Hosting

Like most web hosts, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and requested page) to operate and secure the service.

Children

GlamGlyphs isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, use the opt-out tools above, and clear local storage. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold (such as contact messages). To make a request, contact us.

Changes

When this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of the page.
