Username vs. display name
Your username (handle) is the unique ID people @mention. On Instagram, TikTok, X and Discord it only accepts plain letters, numbers and a few punctuation marks, so styled letters will be rejected. Your display name is shown on your profile and usually accepts styled text and symbols.
