Choosing the right star

Four-point sparkles (✦ ✧) are the go-to for soft, “aesthetic” bios — they’re small and sit neatly beside lowercase text. Classic stars (★ ☆) work for ratings and retro or Y2K styles. Starbursts are louder and best used once, as a bullet or a heading marker.

Star emoji (✨ 🌟) are full-colour and larger than text, so a single one usually reads better than a row.

  2. CopyTap a star; the card shows “Copied”.
  3. Mix sizes carefullyCombine small marks (⋆ ˚ ✧) with one larger star for a balanced line.

Ratings: ★★★★☆ uses filled and outlined stars. The outlined ☆ can look thinner than ★ in some fonts, so preview it before you publish a review graphic.

Accessibility: screen readers say things like “black four pointed star”. Avoid using stars as the only way to show a rating; write “4 out of 5” too.
